4th presentation
i produced the images to experiment with using the paintings in conjunction with the headlines from the 1800's
the first image "jack the ripper" was an attempt at recreating both the scene and the subject, whereas the other two images were experimenting with the contrast between the old headlines and modern subjects and locations - more of a modern interpretation that reinforces the history of the crimes.
in feedback session i highlighted how i didn't feel the images worked as a set as they were consistent and if i were to continue using headlines form the 1800's i would have to pick on approach or the other.
It was then suggested that i could perhaps consider changing a different aspect of the emulation as to not be an exact replica of Tom Hunters work.
one possibility would be to keep with the modern headlines and to utilise painters more relevant to myself. i;e local manchester artists.
this is something i plan to research into the possibilities of next.
